About

Friendly, fun community choir that sings for joy and brings joy within the community!

voiceslogoVoices of Cork is a four part harmony community choir. Formed in 2005 with Cork’s appointment as the ‘European Capital of Culture’ . The aim of the choir is to provide good choral music within the community with particular focus on people with limited access to such music and to give members of the community an opportunity to participate and become members of the choir, regardless of prior experience. The choir’s focus is on community involvement and this can be seen in their interactive workshops with members of the community from the very young to the very old. The choir performs in a wide range of venues including Cork City Hall, Nursing Homes, Hospitals etc.

Members of the choir are men and women of all ages from diverse backgrounds and are drawn from all over Cork. The choir is run by a committee who are all members of the choir. It is a lively choir and repertoire includes popular songs, ballads, jazz etc. Rehearsals are conducted every Wednesday night at St Patrick’s National School on Gardiner’s Hill.

The Musical director is Mr Eamon Nash BMus(Hons) (CSM) and MA in music therapy. Previously the choir has been directed by Mr Padraig Wallace BA BMus (UCC) and Honor Tuohy BMus (Hons) (CSM).
